Sophorus Murito: Chapter 3Three men were standing five feet away from her. They were dressed in robes of black with silver cuffs and hems, and each carried a black staff tipped with a silver orb. Each stared back at her with cold, calculating eyes.   
"The King would want us to bring her in," one said. "He's always happy for a new slave."   
It took Erin about three seconds to register what the man had said. She gulped and tried to edge away from them, but fear rooted her to the spot. Slaves hadn't been around for centuries; what had happened? Was this all a bad dream?

"Erin!" Derrick Hayes called after his sister. She spun around and glared at her twin.   
"Can it, Derrick!" she snarled. She turned and wrenched the front door open. A split second before she slammed it shut, she heard her older sister, Scarlet, come into the foyer.   
"Now what did you do?" This question was directed at Derrick. Erin was spared the annoyance of Derrick's reply, as she slammed the door on the two of them before he could answer.

Sophorus Murito: Chapter 1It was happening again. The dream. The nightmare.   
It was a peaceful day. The breeze was sighing through the trees. The forest was beautiful; nothing was out of place. She leaned on a rock overlooking a pond and gazed at her reflection. What sad eyes; the first hint of the hidden grief was in her eyes. Her facade was amazingly competent, only betraying her emotions through her eyes.   
What had happened? Why had she been abandoned? Was it not enough that everything was going wrong as it was? When would her life go back to the way it had used to be- quiet, calm, and without a care in the world?

Stardust and Memories: Chp 1The hunting had been terrible that day. Someone- or something- had been killing off whole herds of deer, and the elven girl that sat huddled in the bushes had not eaten all day; her food stores had been raided the previous week by a badger. She hadn't caught anything save for one runty fawn, and, needless to say, she was starting to get very, very annoyed.   
She tensed and listened. Something was coming near. It didn't sound like a deer or an antelope; it was far too big, and the footfalls too heavy, to be even the biggest buck in the forest. She slowly stood up, taking care to not tread on the edge of a leaf, and picked up her lon Stardust and Memories: Chp 1

Whew.... I've never appreciated just how hard it is to comment on art pieces. Of course, with me, it's always: "Hey! You are a wonderful artist! I love this piece! Wish I could shade/draw/color/whatever like you!" Just because I am terrible at drawing. I'm working on it, but... plus, the scanner isn't hooked up to the right computer, so I can't upload any of my work, and therefore I can't ask for critiques.... *sigh* Oh, well. Anyways, I have made a new resolution (fine, it's a bit early, but.... oh, well). Actually, a lot of resolutions. But they're goals, also. Here they are:
For 2006:
-Have five faved pieces of art or literature.
-Get 500 pageviews.
-Finish Sophorus Murito.
-Make 1,000 comments on artwork, literature, and journals.
-Make 20 comments on deviant pages.
Whoo.... I hope I actually do those.... most of the time I can't think of anything to say on deviant pages, which is why I want to make only 20... And an unrelated resolution is to not want to throttle every stupid kid in my mom's daycare when I'm trying to write a journal and they won't shut up. Just as a side comment. Just because they're doing it now. Ummmm... I think I should... go now.
